Melita ReGen Lab Β· San Diego
"I have spent my entire adult life studying the human body β from trauma medicine on the battlefield to functional neurology in the clinic. Melita ReGen Lab is the sum of everything I have learned about what it actually takes to heal."
This facility did not begin as a business concept. It began as a deeply personal conviction β that San Diego deserved a recovery and rehabilitation environment built to a clinical standard that did not yet exist here. One that combined the precision of evidence-based medicine with the accessibility of daily membership. One that treated every client the way a specialist's specialist would treat them.
The Beginning
Long before special operations, long before graduate school, and long before the clinic β there was a teenager in high school who was already obsessed with the body and what it was capable of. He founded a health and fitness club that is still running at that school today. That early instinct β that the body is something worth understanding deeply, not just using β has never left.
Military service sharpened that instinct into something clinical. As a Special Operations soldier, the stakes of understanding the human body under extreme conditions were not academic β they were immediate. Training in trauma medicine in that environment means learning to work with the body when everything has gone wrong, when time is limited and the margin for error is zero. That standard of precision and urgency never left the clinic either.
After service, the path forward was clear: understand the body at the deepest level possible, and use that understanding to help people who had nowhere else to turn. Working simultaneously as a personal trainer and EMT while completing an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at San Diego State University, the foundation was being built β clinically, academically, and in the field β all at once.
The Journey
Every qualification, every seminar, every advanced training represents a deliberate choice to go deeper β to understand more, serve better, and push the standard of care further than it was before.
Clinical Philosophy
These are not slogans. They are the principles that have guided every clinical decision, every protocol design, and every conversation with a client since day one.
Pain is a message, not a diagnosis. The location of pain is rarely the location of the problem. Every assessment at Melita ReGen Lab is built around identifying the structural, mechanical, and neurological origins of dysfunction β not managing the symptom that brought the client through the door. This is the difference between a practitioner who treats where it hurts and one who understands why it hurts.
Movement is a neurological output before it is a physical one. Pain is a neurological output. Compensation patterns are neurological outputs. A clinical approach that does not account for the nervous system's role in everything the body does is, by definition, incomplete. The investment in functional neurology training at the Carrick Institute was not an addition to the clinical toolkit β it was a fundamental expansion of how the body is understood.
The standard of care in this facility was set in Special Operations β where the margin for error is zero and the outcome matters absolutely. That standard has never been lowered to accommodate volume, convenience, or comfort. It is the reason clients wait. It is the reason physicians come. And it is the standard that every member of this team is held to, without exception.
The body does not heal by default β it heals when given the right inputs, the right environment, and the right stimulus at the right time. The modalities at Melita ReGen Lab were not selected because they are popular. They were selected because the clinical evidence supports their mechanisms, and because together they create a recovery environment where the body's own repair systems operate at a fundamentally higher level than rest alone could ever achieve.
The clinical landscape is not static. New research, new techniques, and new understandings of the body emerge constantly β and a practitioner who stops learning stops being excellent. The pursuit of advanced training β through graduate programs, seminar attendance, and direct study under the world's leading clinical educators β is not a phase of development. It is a permanent commitment to being the best possible clinician for the people who trust this practice with their health.
The goal of every clinical interaction is to move the client toward less need for the clinician β not more. A practice built on genuine outcomes creates clients who refer others, return when they need to, and leave better than they arrived. This is the long game. And it is the only game worth playing.
Areas of Expertise
Comprehensive rehabilitation for acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries β from initial diagnosis through return to full function. The ability to identify what is actually injured, why it happened, and what it will take to resolve it is what separates this practice from conventional physiotherapy. Cases that have failed elsewhere regularly find resolution here.
Advanced movement analysis and structural assessment that reveals how the body is actually loading, compensating, and distributing force across its joints and tissues. The root cause of most chronic pain and recurrent injury lives in the biomechanical environment β and identifying it requires a level of assessment precision that only specialized training in kinesiology and movement science provides.
Brain-based clinical rehabilitation addressing the neurological dimensions of pain, movement dysfunction, and chronic conditions. Advanced study at the Carrick Institute positioned this practice at the intersection of neuroscience and musculoskeletal medicine β a clinical space very few practitioners in San Diego occupy.
Advanced expertise across the full spectrum of soft tissue assessment and treatment β Active Release Technique, Fascial Distortion Model, NeuroKinetic Therapy, Anatomy Trains, and clinical massage therapy. The ability to assess and treat soft tissue at this level of sophistication β understanding fascial anatomy, neurological inhibition, and movement system integration simultaneously β is rare in any single practitioner.
Translating clinical assessment into performance programming β for athletes who want to perform at a higher level, recover more completely, and extend their competitive careers without accumulating structural damage along the way. The combination of biomechanical precision and performance science creates outcomes that standard strength and conditioning programs cannot replicate.
A clinical foundation built partly in one of the highest-pressure medical environments in existence β Special Operations trauma care. The ability to assess the body rapidly, accurately, and under pressure is not academic for this practitioner. It is ingrained. And it translates directly into the quality and speed of clinical assessment in the clinic today.
Education & Credentials
A partial record β the full breadth of specialty training and continuing education extends considerably further.
The Reputation
"There is no more direct measure of clinical credibility than having the people who understand the body best β physicians, specialists, and medical professionals β choose to put their own health in your hands. Over 100 doctors are current clients. The waitlist is real. The standard is why."
Why This Exists
After years of clinical practice at the highest level β treating some of San Diego's most prominent and discerning clients β the gap became impossible to ignore. The clinical expertise existed. The demand was there. But the infrastructure to deliver that expertise to more people, consistently and at scale, did not.
Most recovery facilities offer technology without clinical judgment. Most clinical practices offer judgment without the recovery infrastructure to support it. Melita ReGen Lab was built to close that gap entirely β a space where the equipment selection, the modality pairings, the training protocols, and the clinical standards all reflect the same level of expertise that built this practice's reputation one client at a time.
The membership model exists so that the clinical knowledge embedded in this facility is accessible every day β not just in the hours when the founder is in the room. That is the vision. That is what was built.
"I built this facility so that the clinical standard I hold myself to could exist in every corner of this space β in the equipment we chose, the pairings we designed, the team we trained, and the environment we created. You don't have to book time with me to benefit from everything I know."

Iβve been training here for several months and had my first session with Dan this morning to relieve some chronic issues after multiple surgeries. He was able to pinpoint things I had no idea about, and I have seen a lot of physical therapists, doctors, and chiropractors. It is well worth a session if youβre someone like me who has struggled finding someone who can recognize quickly whatβs actually going on.
